Looking at the cute face of your furry friend you oblige him by spending quality time with him. But what if your bundle of energy does not want to sleep the entire night? This thing can happen and disturb your night’s sleep along with your family members. So what is the best way to resolve this concern?

Remember, dogs love to sleep, but they also need some quality time with you so how can you devote quality time to them in such a way that they get all their needs fulfilled to have a great night’s sleep?

Let us look at some of the ways to make the night’s sleep of you and your furry friends comfortable and deep:

Tire them up

The prima facie reason for your doggie to wake up the entire night growling, whining, or pacing is because they do not get the kind of workout required to tire them up. In the doggy world, when you try to stop them from growling, they perceive it to be time to play. The best thing to do in such a scenario is to give a good workout to your furry friend during the daytime. This will ensure that they will have a snoozing sleep at night.

Set schedules for your pooch and follow them religiously

It is very important to set schedules for your furry friends and this includes the bedtime schedule. Your pooch should know the exact nature of the activities that they need to do before going to sleep. This can include doing their business when you give them the last call. If you find that your tyke sleeps almost the entire night but wakes up a bit earlier than your liking; you can train him to remain quiet in bed.

Note: If you have an old dog or a puppy it is important that you need to take them for toilet breaks early in the morning or once at night. The reason for doing this activity is because puppies or old dogs cannot hold their bladders for straight eight hours.

Set your sleeping time along with your furry friend’s sleeping time

If you know that you are not going to sleep for at least an hour then make your doggie stay awake during that time frame. This will make your task easier to train your doggy about his sleeping schedule. And it is much easier to stay awake for a wee bit longer than to get up early in the morning, according to the wake-up time of your pooch.

Set comfortable bedding for your pooch

Irrespective of whether your tyke sleeps with you, in a bed near you or in a crate it is very important to keep their bedding extra comfortable. Ensure that it is warm enough or cold enough, according to the skin and coat of your furball. It has been observed that having an extra blanket can make your task easier as dogs like to dig into it and make it like a nest.

If it is fine with you, keep their bedding beside your sleeping place. This is due to the fact that doggies are naturally inclined to sleep with their pack and since you are like a parent to them they feel that you are part of their pack. It has generally been observed that dogs bark throughout the night due to separation anxiety and so you need to ensure that they do not feel aloof during nighttime.

Think from the perspective of your doggie

If you are finding it difficult to set a schedule for a good night’s sleep think from the perspective of your pooch. Is there something that is disturbing him? It can be strange noises coming from outside, hunger pangs during midnight, feeling thirsty, too hot or too cold or uncomfortable. Try to find out creative solutions to each of these problems.

For example; if his sleep is getting disturbed due to strange noises you can utilize a sound machine that will de-clutter the sound. If the sleep deprivation is due to hunger pangs then you can give them dinner late during nightfall or having a small quantity of food assessable to them all the time. If the sleep deprivation is due to thirstiness then you can have a small bowl of water near their sleeping place. In short, try to ensure that your doggie is comfortable before tucking him in his bed.

Ensure that the sleep deprivation is not due to any health reason in your pooch

If your pooch has any untreated aches, pains, or infections it may not allow him to sleep at all. Take him to your veterinarian and get them diagnosed to ensure that they do not have any ailment which is keeping them awake during nights. You can buy recommended dog supplies and nutritious things online as well.

If you have adopted a new doggie or have moved your pooch in a new environment gives him time to adjust to the new place

You might have observed that when you visit someone it becomes difficult for you to sleep well in that new place. Similarly, when you adopt a new pooch or move him to a new environment, it takes some time for him to adjust to the new environment. Give him Chamomile biscuits and a cup of chamomile tea for a couple of weeks and your pooch will find the sleeping place comfortable.

Once you have taken these things into consideration, it will become a lot easier for you to get a good night’s sleep along with your furry friend. Chances are that both of you will get adequate sleep during nights by this coming weekend. So how do you plan to sleep train your pooch today? Please share your opinions and thoughts with us and we would be glad to reply back to you. Till then; keep reading and avoid insomnia by having a good night’s sleep with your furry friends!!

After a very long and hard-working office day you come back and find that your pooch is full of energy and wants to play with you.
