Nexgard Plus for Dogs- Monthly Flea, Tick & Worm Treatment
Nexgard Plus is an all-in-one monthly flea, tick, and intestinal worm treatment for puppies and dogs that prevents heartworms too. It kills adult fleas before they can lay eggs and helps in preventing re-infestation. This formulation treats and controls infestation from black-legged ticks, brown dog ticks, American dog ticks and lone star ticks. It effectively treats and controls adult hookworm and roundworm infections. This palatable beef-flavored oral treatment prevents heartworm disease too.
Nexgard Plus- How does it work?
Suitable for dogs and puppies of 8 weeks of age and older, weighing at least 4 lbs; Nexgard Plus is a monthly treatment. It is a mixture of afoxolaner, moxidectin and pyrantel (as pamoate salt). Afoxolaner obstructs the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid gated chloride channels, and hinders transfer of chloride ions across cell membranes. This leads to uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and death of fleas and ticks. Afoxolaner starts killing fleas within 4 hours of administration and makes your pet almost flea-free within 8 hours of administration.
Moxidectin restrains chloride channel-mediated neurotransmission in susceptible parasites, thereby paralyzing and eventually killing parasites, which leads to prevention of heartworm disease caused by dirofilaria immitis. Pyrantel works as depolarizing, neuromuscular-blocking agent in vulnerable parasites that paralyzes and ultimately kills roundworms and hookworms.
