How Does the Seresto Collar for Large Dogs Work?

Seresto Collar contains two active ingredients: flumethrin and imidacloprid. Imidacloprid controls flea infestations, while flumethrin kills and repels ticks. These ingredients spread across your dog’s skin surface through direct contact, covering the entire body from head to tail.The polymer matrix technology ensures that the active ingredients are released slowly and continuously, providing up to 8 months of uninterrupted protection.

The collar works through contact, meaning fleas and ticks do not need to bite your dog to be killed. After 24 hours of application, new fleas are killed within 2 hours. After 48 hours, new ticks are repelled and/or killed within as little as 6 hours.

Instructions To Use Seresto Collar

• Weigh your dog and select the suitable Seresto Collar size.
• Remove the collar from the protective bag directly before use.
• Unroll the collar and ensure there are no remnants from the plastic connectors inside it.
• Insert the end of the collar through the buckle.
• Adjust the collar around your dog’s neck. Do not make it too tight or too loose. As a guide, fit two fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog’s neck.
• Pull the excess collar through the loop(s).
• Cut the collar to a length no greater than 1 inch (2 cm) beyond the loop(s), unless using it on a growing puppy. Additional length may be needed for adjustment as your puppy grows.
• Check the collar periodically and adjust the fit if required, especially during rapid growth stages.
• The collar should be worn continuously for the 8-month protection period. There is no need to remove it while bathing. However, to maintain the full 8-month duration, do not bathe your dog more than once per month.
• Replace the collar after 8 months for optimal flea and tick protection.
