Apoquel 3.6 mg Tablets for dogs is a quick-action formula that controls pruritus caused by allergic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis in dogs that weigh between 6.6-9.9 lbs (0.5 tablet) and 15.0-19.9 lbs (1 tablet). Manufactured by Zoetis, Apoquel's anti-inflammatory properties provide relief within 4 hours of administration and within 24 hours, itching is alleviated completely. Apoquel can be safely used in 12 months and older dogs. Apoquel can also be used concomitantly with other treatments such as NSAIDS, parasiticides, antifungals, anti-infectives, and allergen-specific immunotherapy.
The active ingredient present in Apoquel is Oclacitinib maleate. This ingredient helps in getting rid of allergic reactions. It inhibits the proper functioning of the proinflammatory and pruritogenic cytokines like JAK 1 and JAK 3 that are responsible for producing various allergic reactions in the dog's body.
Apoquel tablets must be administered orally as per the weight of the dog.
