Panacur Granules 4.5 gm: Broad-spectrum Worming Treatment for Dogs and Cats

Panacur Granules (4.5 gm) is a broad-spectrum dewormer for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. Formulated with fenbendazole, it treats infections from major worms in pets, namely roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and certain tapeworms. The granule form makes the dosage convenient, as you can mix it into your pet’s food for easy acceptance. You can also use this oral treatment in pregnant pets to help protect the newborn litters from the transmission of worms.

Panacur Granules Coverage

When administered as directed, Panacur worming solution provides wide parasite coverage. It is indicated for:

• Treatment of dogs and cats infected with immature and mature stages of nematodes of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts
• Treatment of adult dogs and cats infected with gastrointestinal nematodes and cestodes:
• Ascarid spp. (Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina)
• Ancylostoma spp.
• Trichuris spp.
• Uncinaria spp.
• Taenia spp.
• Treatment of weaned puppies and kittens infected with gastrointestinal nematodes
• Treatment of puppies and dogs infected with protozoa (Giardia spp)
• Treatment of pregnant dogs to reduce prenatal infections with Toxocara canis and the transfer of T. canis and Ancylostoma caninum to their pups via the milk
• Treatment of dogs infected with lungworm Oslerus (Filaroides) osleri or protozoa Giardia spp.
• Has an ovicidal effect on nematode eggs

Panacur Granules contain fenbendazole as an active ingredient. This powerful ingredient disrupts the energy metabolism of parasites and starves them, resulting in the death of parasites.

Instructions To Use Panacur Worming Granules

Directions for use:

• Panacur Granules are available in packs of different strengths for weight-appropriate dosage.
• Weigh your dog or cat as accurately as possible and get the pack(s) that most closely doses their bodyweight.
• Administer the appropriate dosage of Panacur by mixing the granules into your pet’s feed.

Routine treatment of adult dogs and cats

• Administer 100 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs. body weight as a single dose.
• Repeat the treatment when natural re-infection with parasitic worms occurs.
• It is advisable to administer repeat treatment to adult animals with minimal exposure to infection 2 to 4 times per year.
• For dogs in kennels, more frequent treatment, at 6 to 8 weekly intervals, is recommended.

Dosage:

• 1g Sachet/dose treats 4.4 lbs. bodyweight as a single dose (2.4 – 4.4 lbs.)
• 1.8g Sachet/dose treats 8.8 lbs. bodyweight as a single dose (4.8 – 9.7 lbs.)
• 4.5g Sachet/dose treats 22 lbs. bodyweight as a single dose (11 – 22 lbs.)
• For dogs weighing over 22 lbs., additional sachets are required according to the additional bodyweight.

Weaned puppies and kittens under six months of age

• Administer 50 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs. bodyweight daily for 3 consecutive days.
• Puppies should be treated at 2 weeks of age, 5 weeks of age, and again before leaving the breeder’s premises.
• Treatment may also be required at 8 and 12 weeks of age.
• Thereafter, you may reduce the frequency of treatment unless the pups remain in kennels where re-infestation occurs more readily.

Dosage:

• 1g Sachet/dose treats 8.8 lbs. bodyweight (minimum bodyweight 4.8 lbs.) dosed daily for three consecutive days (4.8 – 9.7 lbs.)
• 1.8g Sachet/dose treats 17.6 lbs. bodyweight dosed daily for three consecutive days (9.9 – 17.6 lbs.)
• 4.5g Sachet/dose treats 44 lbs. bodyweight dosed daily for three consecutive days (22 – 44 lbs.)
• For dogs/puppies weighing over 44 lbs., additional sachets are required according to the additional bodyweight.

Pregnant dogs

• Administer 25 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs. bodyweight daily from day 40 of pregnancy continuously to 2 days post-whelping (approximately 25 days).

Dosage:

• 1g Sachet/dose treats 17.6 lbs. bodyweight daily, approx. 25 days
• 1.8g Sachet/dose treats 35.2 lbs. bodyweight daily, approx. 25 days
• 4.5g Sachet/dose treats 88 lbs. bodyweight daily, approx. 25 days
• For female dogs weighing over 88 lbs., additional sachets are required according to the additional bodyweight.

Increased dosing for specific infections

• For the treatment of clinical worm infestations in adult dogs and cats or Giardia spp. infections in dogs, administer 50 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs. bodyweight daily for 3 consecutive days.
• For the control of lungworm Oslerus (Filaroides) osleri in dogs, administer 50mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs. bodyweight, daily for 7 consecutive days.
• A repeat course of treatment may be required in some cases.

• For oral use in animals only.
• It should be kept out of reach of children.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after handling the product.
• Keep direct contact of the product with your skin to a minimum.
• Avoid inhalation of granule dust.
