Nuheart for large dogs is a monthly heartworm preventative treatment. The Ivermectin formula kills larval stages of heartworms within 30 days of infestation. The oral heartworm treatment is also known as a generic form of heartgard.
Nuheart is a meat-flavored heartworm treatment that attracts dogs. Each tablet is well-sized for easier dosing with minimal rejection. Just place a Nuheart tablet in the back of the dog's throat on top of the tongue. For resisting dogs, Nuheart can also be dissolved in a small amount of water or mixed in the pet's food.
Once Nuheart is administered, the active component Ivermectin kills larval stages of heartworm parasites within 30 days of infestation.

Caution:Collies including Border Collies and other breeds have genetic intolerance to Ivermectin. Those pet owners with Collies and other susceptible breeds should look for alternatives to Ivermectin for the treatment of parasites.

The palatable meat flavored tabs makes it so easy because my dog takes it without making iny fuss.
The product seems to work just fine. My dog is picky with these so we have to disguise them in treats to get her to eat them.
